We Take A break From Our Regularly Scheduled Activity

Wednesday: (04/07) Seems like old times. I was kept up much of the night with back pain. After breakfast of a nice sausage and cheese omelet we headed toward Indio to the hospital. We're with the Kaiser health plan but their services in this part of the state are minimal. Much is performed but non Kaiser facilities. That's why we were sent to the JFK Hospital in Indio. We could have taken a longer drive toward San Diego but since we're more familiar with the Palm Springs / Indio area and it's a bit closer, we headed to Indio.

We already knew what the problem was, another pesky pebble, but went to see the doctor for a check. Not too much they need to do if all goes well anyway. Fortunately the pain was diminishing by the hour so after the three hours for the emergency room checkup it was pretty much gone. If all goes as in previous times, that should be it, until the pesky pebble passes in a week to months from now. Here's hoping.

We stopped at Sloan's Restaurant nearby for dinner. We stopped here last year when we visited Joshua Tree NM. I had the chicken fried steak with baked potato and green beans. Lou had a Cobb salad. She had snacked while I was at the hospital at a nearby Mexican market and had a taco. We made a stop at a Kaiser pharmacy for a prescription and Walmart's for groceries before heading home.

Poor Lou ate lightly partly because she was the driver and we had a 60 mile trip back to camp. It's an easy drive, just not too short. We arrived home about 8:30. This wasn't our planned activities for the day but wasn't too bad a day even so.
