Las Vegas, Rio

Friday: I moved out of Sam's today to the parking lot at the Rio. Time to save a buck. The Rio seems to have the best RV parking area, right next to the casino, no bother, and easy to get to. I consider the front entrance treacherous for an RV with a toad so I come in the back way. (From I15 on W Flamingo to S. Valley View Blvd to W Twain Av to Rio Dr, the 2nd signal.)
I looked around the other half of Las Vegas and drove out toward Lake Mead. Las Vegas is much like LA. Sprawl, treeless, and smoggy. Nice place otherwise.

Free shows I like! The "Masguerade Show In The Sky" at the Rio is excellent. The show starts with a parade through the casino area. After that, there is usually activity by a clown or stilt walkers interacting with the audience. Then they have a stage show with 10 dancers, all seem to really enjoy themselves. There are also gondolas hanging from the ceiling with more dancers, etc.

There are on-going shows as well. They have little stages, more like soap boxes, all around the casino. They call this "Bevertainment." The cocktail waitresses and waiters get up and sing or dance a number taking turns at the scattered stages. Most are quite good, then they pick up their tray and continue. I guess some people might get impatient waiting for their drinks? All this and free!!! It's a good thing!
