Thursday: (07/14) The rest of the hike to Drakesbad was through nice forested areas and by meadows along a creek, then down a steep grade to the ranch. Above left was an interesting flower/fungi?
I arrived just before they started serving lunch to the ranch guests. I enjoyed an ice cream and looked around a bit. Hikers can get lunch too but are served what is left after the guests and staff have eaten. I had a good lunch with a couple of girls from Austin, Texas. One of them, JukeBox, will be moving to Cupertino after the hike.
I drug myself away from the ranch before dinner. On the way out i passed Boiling Lake and Terminal geyser. I camped at Boundary Spring at the Southern edge Lassen NP, MM1344, Only 11 miles today.
