A little Fencing

Friday: (03/31) Granola and banana for breakfast. We had a bunch of errands this morning. I stopped by Best Buy to get a new protective screen for my new phone. While I get the phone free under warranty I have to pay for a new protective screen each time. Now I know how they make their money. I also dropped off the old phone for the return to Verizon. We also visited Orchard Hardware, Cost Plus World Market for coffee, Trader Joe’s for flowers, Safeway for a chicken and Bed Bath and Beyond for some small plastic bottles. I decided to carry some vitamin I (Ibupropin) in each car. A nice chicken and cheese sandwich for lunch. I worked in the yard in the afternoon. I cleaned up and arranged they yard in preparation for rebuilding the fence. I also did some demolition removing eyelets, hinges, conduits and water lines attached to the fence. Leftover spaghetti for dinner.

Saturday: (04/01) I worked on my computer downloading music files. In my searching, I found a really good new group called MonaLisa Twins. They do 60’s tunes, the famous ones we old folks knew and new tunes they write in the same style. I also adding titles and artists IDs for my music files. We took a walk over to the nearby Goodwill store and, of course, Lou and Dawn found some things they needed. I walked back home and brought the car back to brings us and our goods home. Dawn continued her walk on the library. Later in the afternoon, we drove over to the Gamble house for a walk in the gardens there. I also did a little more cleanup in the yard. Granola and banana for breakfast. Hot dog and chips for lunch. Wieners and baked beans for dinner.

Sunday: (04/02) We made a run to Redwood City’s Target store for some groceries. Picked up lunch at USA Chinese across the street. At home, I started work on the fence. I removed the paving bricks next to the fence and replaced some bricks next to the garden that was broken. I also added some drip emitters to some new plants. Dawn was busy planting her garden. Breakfast sandwiches to start. Chinese fast food for lunch. Lou’s chicken pot pie for dinner.

Monday: (04/03) Lou and I made a shopping run early this morning. I needed some fittings from Orchard Hardware to complete the green hose hoses. I also picked up some strawberry plants. I reworked our strawberries in the wheelbarrow planter. I also started removing the fence that needs replacement. I relocated much of it to make a temporary fence. Ernie helped as I got the jackhammer busy on removing the concrete base. Not a simple task. We removed about half of the base. Granola and banana for breakfast. Chicken pot pie for lunch. Hamburgers for dinner.

Parker Ranch Trail Hike

Tuesday: (03/28) Up really early. Breakfast sandwich from Jack In The Box on the way to the trailhead in Saratoga. I ended up being there at 0550, rather early for the 0630 hike. Seven fellow San Jose Midweek Hikers hiked up into Fremont Older Open Space preserve via the Parker Ranch Trail. Only a 7-mile hike but the birds were out, the sun rising along the way and there were flowers. Nice hike. We were finished around 0915. I stopped for another breakfast of Swedish pancakes and bacon at the Country Inn In Cupertino on the way home. For lunch, we visited our local Corner Bakery restaurant for some chopped salad. I napped and worked in the yard in the afternoon. We drove over to the Stanford Shopping Center for an afternoon walk. Leftovers for dinner. I had a chicken sandwich.
