New RV Tires Installed
Got the new RV tires at Costco in Gilroy. There are closer Costco's but none of them would install the tires on an RV. Camping World couldn't even get the tires in the near future.

Carnaval San Francisco
We visited the Carnaval in San Francisco Sunday on Memorial Day Weekend. This event is always fun. The parade lasts about 3.5 hours with lots of bands and dancers on parade.

More Play
Another day off for Don. I attended a Traffic Signal Association meeting in Redwood City. At least it was called a meeting. It was a Malabu Golf Land. We played a couple of rounds of minature golf and a few video games in addition to the business portion of the meeting. I haven't attended but a couple of these meetings since I retired. It's nice to get some of the news, ocassionally.

RV Show
We took Tuesday off and went over to Pleasanton to an RV show.
We had a nice lunch at our favorite bakery/cafe nearby then went to the RV show.
Nothing special there, not even good prices. There was plenty of one thing. HEAT. It was in the high 90's. We headed back over the hill to get the benefit of the 10 degree temperature drop near the bay.
We shopped a few places on the way home. A wasted day but a nice day.

Out To Lunch
An outing for breakfast to downtown Mountain view. We like the Hong Kong Bakery for their Baked Pork Buns and also their egg tarts.
Above left an interesting art piece by City Hall. Above right. We visited a new Lowe's Home Improvement Center in Sunnyvale (Finally closer than 20 miles). The parking spaces were interesting. They need to be mowed.
More work on the fence. I'm not fast, but???
Our bird friend loves to hang around the yard especially near us. Actually, there are a pair here. But they usually only come down individually. Must have nest duty. They've been here for years and were special friends of Mr Milo, our cat.

WordPress
I've been playing with a new blog application. This blog is using Blogger and, while easy to use, it isn't very versatile. It's also damn difficult to change hosts on. This is because while it is hosted on my server it also uses files on Bloggers server as the source and they aren't easily accessible for by a site search and replace. Each entry has to be changed individally.
I looked at WordPress before and for some reason decided not to use it. I took a fresh look recently and it seems pretty good now. So, I set it up on my server and imported the Blogger blog(s) to it. Still looks good. I have to decide on a templete (look and feel) and then patch it up to work the way I want then I'll launch it. There are a lot of "plug-ins" to add features so it may be a while before it's launched.
Here is the work in progress.

My Aching Back
Fencing in earnest. Most materials have arrived so I couldn't put off starting the actual work any longer.
Three pallets of cement arrive. A little more than needed for the fence project. Delivery is expensive so why get just a few. I'll do some sidewalk work as well.
It was fun moving two of the three pallets full from the front yard to the rear yard. That's a little over three tons, fortunately in small manageable bags.
On the right is the fence before removal.
The fence has been moved back into the neighbors yard a little so the concrete retaining wall and post anchors can be installed. The neighbor has small children and we have water features so we wanted to keep a fence in place.
I feel older each time I start one of these projects but, actually, it's nice to get a little exercise.

Nice Day
Nice sunny day. Good for some yard work. Chased a few leaves, potted some plants. Watched some birds, and squirrels. Nice! A little more material collecting.

Fencing, Again
It's time for another fence project. This time, the last remaining fence on our house here in Palo Alto. Fortunately only about 40 feet, 2/3's of the rear fence. The other 1/3 abuts a different neighbor and was completed previously. Fortunately, I'm running out of fence project candidates. Only one more possible in the near future, and I hope it remains in the future.
I started collecting materials for the project. I have more time than money so shopping around for the best price is worthwhile. Amazing price differences for some of this stuff. 2-3 times cost differences for the same items.
