Bakersfield

We rose with the sun and were on the road. We made our way to Bakersfield to visit with Don's Uncle Doug and Aunt Helen. We saw something we haven't seen in a visit to Bakersfield in a while, a blue sky! We went out to Basque dinner at Maitia's. Bakersfield is, or should be, famous for two things, it's Basque and Chinese restaurants. We always try to go out to one or the other every time we visit. Our favorite Basque restaurant, the Woolgrowers, wasn't open today due to the Holiday. The two best Chinese restaurants are the Rice Bowl and the Bamboo Chopsticks downtown.
