After some preparation to leave, we called Don's nephew Larry and met him for breakfast at the Villager Inn. After a nice chat over breakfast, we returned to the RV, hooked up and departed. It was difficult to leave as we had to leave a new found friend.
Last night, as we did our laundry at the RV park laundry, we met Barbeque the park cat. He is a tabby cat that is very talkative and much in need of attention. We enjoyed talking with him and he evidently enjoyed our petting him. He followed use back and forth to the RV as we checked on the progress at the laundry. When we got up this morning, he was right there to say good morning. We had a short visit before we finally had to go. He seemed disappointed as we left because his tail was hanging low as we drove off. We have to wonder what he does when the park is full and also what he does when he is there by himself when the park is closed for the season?
We drove down to Fort Collins and walked around downtown. A very nice place. The weather was good as well. We had lunch at the Steakout Saloon. We both had the daily special of Tortilla Soup and Salad. The tortilla soup was the best we've had, which is not an idle complement. We've tried quite a few.
We then continued down Hwy 287 (College Avenue) to Longmont, Colorado. We had thought of stopping at Boyd State Park for the night in Loveland but it didn't look any better than stopping at a WalMart, which we then did, saving about $23 for the night. We needed to stock up on some groceries. Now that we left the family in Cheyenne, we now have to prepare our own meals except for the occasional restaurant visit. We haven't done much of that till now due to the rush out here and the family visits while we were there.
