Tuesday: (04/05) Granola, yogurt and bananas for breakfast. Lou registered us for another day and I was off on a hike up the Panorama Loop Trail and Warren Peak Trail.
The trail starts out going up Black Rock Wash about 1.7 miles to meet the Panorama Loop Trail. The Warren Peak Trail is a 1 mile spur off the Panorama Loop Trail.
Much more green here than most trails in Joshua Tree NP.
More water in the desert. there were a couple of springs along the trail.
There was a real forest along much of the Panorama Loop Trail. Good sized pine tree on the left and a really large Joshua tree on the right.
A view of Mt San Jacinto from the Panorama Loop Trail. The wind generators are at the bottom of the valley below it.
On the left is the start of the Warren Peak Trail departing the Panorama Loop Trail. Mt San Gorgonio in the distance on the right photo is the tallest peak in Southern California
On the way down from Warren peak I spotted this horned lizard. It looks a little different than the last one we saw. The toatal hike this morning was just 8.25 miles and I was home by noon.
Lou fixed ham sandwiches for lunch. Lou was busy working on her dolls today. I tinkered at the computer updating the bog and posting photos in the afternoon. For dinner i fixed grilled pork chops with rice, and fresh spinach.
