Wednesday: (01/25) Helen fixed bacon with grits and toast for breakfast. We finally left Bakersfield about noon. Lunch was ion Tehachapi at the Apple Shed. we shared an apple, avocado, ham and bacon sandwich after sharing a slice of fresh peach pie ala mode. We took highway 58 on to highway 395 then hichway 18 to highway 247. We stopped in Landers to visit with Aunt Mary about 4pm. Dinner was leftover chicken with home fries, and avocado. We chatted until 10 pm. Since it was late, we spent the night by the Post Office in Landers.
