Angel Of The Wings Casino, Arlingtion, Wa

Tuesday: (10/04) We headed South on the I5 highway. After about 30 miles we had a little excitement.

Backhoe Fell Off Truck
A couple of vehicles ahead of us was a pickup towing a trailer with a backhoe on it. The backhoe tie downs broke and the backhoes from tires were bounceing from one side of the trailer to the other. He ended up occupying both lanes and the shoulder of the highway. Fortunately other vehicles hit him or were hit by him even though it was heavy traffic. The truck and backhoe managed to come to a stop upright but blocking the right lane and shoulder. It is amazing that neither vehicle tipped over and neither went over the edge of the elevated roadway.

We continued on about 10 miles to our destination for the night exiting at Exit 210 to the Angel Of The Wings Casino. It's located a few miles Northwest of Arlington, Washington. Lou had heard an add for them when we were in Vancouver stating they had world famous apple pie.

Enough said, we stopped for the night. When I checked to see if we could spend the night I learned that yes you can but it costs $16. OK, but for signing up for their players club, we each got $5 in cash back. Now that turns out to be a cheap stay. They provide electric and have a sanitary dump, water and fast Wifi. Since we got a late start today even with only 40 miles under our belt, this seemed like a good place for the night. For dinner we each had their apple pie ala mode, which is worth an award, for less than $4 with their coupons and member discounts making our stay here more than free. The picture above is of the dry camping area. We moved to a site with electric and water which I forgot to take a picture of.

We managed to wear out Lou's knee this morning so she relaxed at home the rest of the evening. I took a rare turn at the blackjack table only breaking even after about an hour. That should last me for a few years.

Wednesday: (10/05) We had breakfast at the casino's Watershed Restaurant. Then we were on the road.
