Muckleshoot Casino, Auburn, Wa

Wednesday: (10/05) We only went a little ways before we stopped at a thrift store where I found a couple of new shirts. Seems I'm off season for finding new short sleeved western shirts and when I do find them, they are much more expensive than I like. I've had several shirt "failures" so I needed some replacements. With 1000 miles left on the way home and lots of thrift stores along the way, I may get a new wardrobe before we get home. Lou on the other hand needs new pants and Fred meyers has a sale on here type but hasn't had her size so we stopped at another to see if any fit. Now she has collect four from three stores. Busy morning. We also finally filled up our gas tanks at Freddie's. their price was 33 cents less than nearby stations even before a 10 cent discount thanks to our shopping at Freddie's for groceries and Lou's pants. We haven't filled up since before we got down to  Vancouver, BC. I really didn't want to top off before we left Canada because the gas prices are better here in the US, over $1.50/gallon better per today's fill-up. Lunch was some nice Lou olive loaf sandwiches. Lou made a call to the state park we intended to stop at and it was closed. Lots of places are now that the season is over. We considered the Walmart RV Park in Renton but it didn't allow overnight stays. After dinner of my famous spaghetti we headed on toward Auburn. We stopped at the Muckleshoot Casino SE of town for the night. Casino camping is a really nice way to save some on travel expenses provided you don't have a weakness for gambling. Fortunately, we don't. Another low mileage day maybe 75 miles.

Thursday: (10/06) Pancakes and sausage for breakfast. We drove up to Seattle today.

Seattles Pike Place Public Market Seattles Pike Place Public Market
We parked near Pikes Place Public Market and looked around the market and nearby areas. A shared a bowl of clam chowder and a Texas donut were lunch. We watched the ferry's come and go. They seem like a really nice way to get from town to home. About 5:30 we returned back to Renton via local street, not the freeway. We stopped at the Southgate mall and had dinner at Ivar's, sharing a fish and chips dinner. It was dark and raining, just like last night when we returned down to Auburn to our RV at the Muckleshoot Casino. These roads are a little difficult to negotiate when you don't know where you're going and can't see anything either. We did make it back to the RV without incident.
