Apache Trail
We went East on Highway 88, the Apache Trail. It goes by Canyon Lake, Apache Lake and Roosevelt Lake. There is also a lot of dry land, pretty, but dry.
We stopped in Tortilla Flats by Canyon Lake for a look around. It's famous for having dollar bill wall paper. The dollars on the wall exceed the value of the building.
The sign above is riddled with bullet homes. I couldn't help but think Mr Cheney had been by for a visit earlier?
We also looked at the Salado Cliff Dweller Ruins by Roosevelt Lake. The stalactite flow stone was interesting. We haven't seen it before in an exposed cliff only in damp dark caves?
We had dinner at Ma's Restaurant near Roosevelt Lake. Really good pizza for me, and Lou had liver and onions which were also good.
We continued on and stopped in Globe to look around the old town area.
