Williamson Provincial Park, Alberta

Saturday: (09/10) We shared one of the cinnamon rolls we picked up yesterday for breakfast and were on the road by 0830. We stopped in Fort St John at the Farmers Market and looked at a couple garage sales before hitting the road again. Lunch was Lou's chili sizes in Dawson Creek followed by a walk around town. Nicer this time, sunny rather than rainy. We stopped in Grand Prairie and got a couple of things at Costco. Then we were on the road again (highway 43) stopping at Williamson Provincial Park 19km West of Valleyview for the night.

Williamson Provincial Park Campsite Williamson Provincial Park Hot Air Balloon
Williamson Provincial Park campground was nice but a little pricier than most of the parks in BC at $21 compared to $12-15. We walked down to the lake shore and saw a glow in the sky like a second moon. A family was setting a paper hot air baloon off. On their second try the baloon rose high and flew out over the lake before it's candle went out. they also set off a lot of other fireworks for a nice show.

Lou made steamed hot dogs, cabbage and onions. After dinner we walked out to the lake and watched a little private fireworks show.
