Chef Ernie prepared an excellent holiday meal but didn't get carried away, too much, this year. No turkey this year. First, there was the pre-dinner line up of carrots and celery with honey peanut butter and a white wine cheese sauce. Olives both black and garlic stuffed green. The bird was actually a couple of nice chickens from the rotisserie. The usual mashed potatoes, and creamed peas with tiny onions. It was all tied together with a nice chicken gravy and, of course, cranberry sauce. The stove top stuffing was forgotten and now is for another day. And, of course, there were the pies. Some how we survived.
Wolfie and Ernie played on the slide. Wolfie can run up it. Walter is enjoying his holiday bone.
Ernie and the gang depart. We're always thankful for our Ernie visits!
Oddly enough, Black Friday was spent at home, away from the hoards. Dinner was more of the same but Ernie whipped up some creamed corn, not that canned stuff but ala Ernie with white sauce red peppers and green onions. H also add oven roasted cubed potatoes. All this topped off with a green salad with raspberry vinaigrette dressing. I think he's having fun. We certainly are.
